Cutting Baby's Nails..

Baby's nails can be very sharp and she can easily scratch her face or eyes if you let the nails grow too long. It is important to keep her nails short and tidy - but those fingers are so tiny...

Use special blunt baby nail scissors or clippers. Trim her finger and toenails, following the natural curve of the nail and leave a small amount of the white showing. If you cut the nail too short it could bleed or become infected.

Hold her finger or toe between your finger and thumb, with the rest of her hand or foot in your hand; that way you won't cut her if she pulls away - and she probably will!

Cutting a nail causes no pain of course, but restricting the movement of her hand or foot will cause her to try to pull it away. If cutting baby's nails becomes too much of a battle, wait until she is asleep and do it then.
